It soon became to be at the top of New York Times #1 best seller's list for 1999 and most of 2001. Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone is about Harry Potter and his two friends attending their first year at Hogwarts School of Witch craft and Wizardry. They then try to kill Lord Voldemort, who had killed Harry Potter's parents when he was a year old. However, Voldemort or He should not be named, You know who, is not in human form. So he is sharing a body with a Hogwarts professor. All reviews for this book are mostly favourable. Very few people commented on the fact that the final Chapters had been rushed. Despite their reviews Harry Potter and The Philosophers stone became a bestseller.
